Hampta Pass is a stunning trek which passes through the lush green meadows, waterfalls and picturesque mountains as well as the deserts of Lahaul Valley. All these variations in the landscape make the trek different than other treks. The add-on in the trek is the mesmerizing beauty of Chandratal known as Moon Lake as well. The trek starts from manali.
Day 1: Manali
On arrival in Manali, you chek in to our camp site in Manali, Take rest for a while and then proceed to a sightseeing trip with one of our team members. It would be a village tour to get you acclimatized. Enjoy your evening at campsite while dancing with light music and having your dinner at the camp site and have a good night sleep in the comfy tents.
Day 2: Manali – Vashist – Chhika (4-5 Hours)
We will drive from Manali to Vashisht village on the upper outskirt and will Start trekking from Vashist to Chhika while passing through the alpine forests, along the Hampta Waterfall. Overnight in the tents.
Day 3: Chhika – Balu Gera (4-5 Hours)
Today, we will start our Trek from Chhika to Balu Gera . Balu Gera means “Bears camp”. Brown bears use the caves in this area to hibernate in winter. Overnight in tents
Day 4: Balu Gera – Hampta Pass – Sia Goru (4200mts/13800ft) (4-5 Hours)
A strenuous trek over Hampta Pass to Sia Goru provides stunning picturesque scenery . You can see Deo Tibba and Indrasan Peak of the great Himalayas. This used to be the trade rout from China by Spiti to kullu and other parts of the country. Overnight stay in the tents.
Day 5: Sia Goru-Chhatru-Chandatal (3 Hours Drive, 4 Hours Trek)
Today’s trek will be a comparatively relaxed one after the previous day trek. Chhatru is a picturesque village surrounded by meadows and river Chandra flowing nearby.You are picked up of from the end point of the trek at Chhatru and transported by jeep to Chandertal, a high altitude lake in the Himalayas. This offers some splendid photos. We will come back to Chhatru by the evening. Overnight stay will be at Chhatru Camp.
Day 6: Chandratal- Manali (5 Hours)
A 5 hours drive will take you back to Manali. You will have an option to stay at our Solang Tent with additional charges for the night or you may choose stay of your own.
