The trek for Dodi Tal commences from Uttarkashi or Kalyani, which can be approached by motor. Kalyani to Agoda is a gradual climb through woods, fields and villages along. a mule track. The trek from Agoda to Dodi Tal is steep and through thick forests.
High up in the mountains is the Dodital lake- mysterious, alluring, and simply beautiful ! The serene, tranquil surroundings, gurgling streams, crystal clear water, and dense alpine forests make for an ideal retreat. The trek from Dodital to Yamnotri takes you through high altitude grasslands and dense virgin forests. The scenery en-route is really astounding. The another name for this lake is Dhundital.
Dodital is a high altitude lake at a height of 3307 mts/10847 ft. Situated amidst pine forests with the backdrop of Darwa Bugyal, a high altitude meadow; Dodital has a serene effect on the mind and body.Dodital gets its name from Dodi, the local name for trout, which are found in large numbers in the lake. Like most of the high altitude Tals, Dodital also has a legend associated with it.

Day 1: Delhi-Haridwar
Early morning arrival at Delhi. 0700 hrs departure by train to Haridwar. Day at leisure to explore this holy town. Visit the ‘Aarti’ (holy ceremony) performance at the river ‘Ghat’ at sunset. Overnight in Hotel.
Day 2: Haridwar-Kalyani
Drive to the road-head at Kalyani. The drive takes you through the picturesque Garhwal mountains along the Ganges. Camp overnight by the side of river Asi Ganga. Overnight in Tents.
Day 3 : Kalyani-Dodital
A gradual uphill trek through beautiful landscape of thick forests and steep cliffs brings you to the mysterious Dodital Lake (3307 m) – surrounded by dense forests, it is an ideal place for the nature lover. Overnight in Fo rest Rest House / Tents.
Day 4: Dodital
Day at leisure. The crystal clear lake and the surrounding dense forests create an atmosphere of peace and tranquility. Explore the surrounding areas. Campfire dinner at night. Overnight in Forest Rest House / Tents.
Day 5: Dodital
Day at leisure. Overnight in Fo rest Rest House / Tents.
Day 6: Dodital-Darwa Dhar
Begin the trek ascending the Darwa Dhar Ridge ( 4115 m ) – the watershed of the Ganga and Yamuna River valleys. Overnight in Tents.
Day 7: Darwa Dhar-midway Camp
Descend towards the Yamuna Valley. Set up camp for the night in the forest. Overnight in Tents.
Day 8: Camp-Hanuman Chatti
Continue to Hanuman Chatti ( 2400m ) located on the bamks of river Yamuna. Overnight in Forest Rest House.
Day 9: Hanuman Chatti – Day for rest.
Day 10: Hanuman Chatti-Yamnotri –
Trek to the source of the river Yamuna; it is a gradual climb upto Yamnotri ( 3185m ). ( 10 Kms; 4-6 hrs of walking)
Day 11: Yamnotri-Mussoorie
Trek down to the road-head and proceed by Jeep to the hill station Mussoorie- overlooking the Doon valley. En-route visit Lakhamandal- a site associated with the heroes of the epic ‘Mahabharata’. There is an ancient temple and cave formations which are of interest. Farewell dinner. Overnight in Hotel at Mussoorie.( 10 Kms trek from Yamnotri to road-head; 3-4 hrs walking )
Day 12: Mussoorie-Delhi
Day at leisure to explore the town. After lunch, proceed to DehraDun to board the 1700 hrs Train to Delhi. 2230 hrs arrival at Delhi.
